Turkish returns to South Africa

Turkish Airlines resumed services to South Africa this week following a 5-year hiatus. The airline now serves Cape Town via Johannesburg 3x per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays using A332 aircraft.

Kenya Airways to codeshare with Turkish Airlines

Kenya Airways and Turkish Airlines have signed a codeshare agreement that will see the latter placing its code on KQ’s 3x per week flights between Nairobi and Istanbul. Furthermore, the agreement allows for KQ to increase its frequency to 5x per week.

Turkish Airlines posts schedules to Addis Ababa, Khartoum and Lagos

Turkish Airlines’ expansion into Africa, which was announced last year to include services to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia, Khartoum in Sudan and Lagos in Nigeria, sees the following schedules out of Istanbul.

Turkish Airlines to open new African routes

Turkish Airlines has indicated that having an outstanding order of 59 Airbus and Boeing aircraft, it is to open 23 new routes begining next year to bring its international destinations to 102 cities. Among these new routes are the African cities of Lagos (Nigeria), Khartoum (Sudan) and Addis Ababa (Ethiopia).
