Tunisair orders Airbus aircraft
Tunisair has placed an order for three A350s, three A330-200s and then A320s.
Air Mauritanie liquidated, a new airline emerges
Air Mauritanie has been liquidated over its inability to pay $2.7 million in debt for leased aircraft. Two planes were recently seized in Paris at the request of lessor ILFC.
Following the airline’s liquidation, a new company by the name of Mauritanie Airways was formed with flights expected to start on November 8. The state will control 10% of the new airline, while the rest will be held by TunisAir and a private entity.
Tunisair to Bahrain, Kuwait
Tunisair will begin service from its base in Tunis to Bahrain and Kuwait effective May 21. Flights will be operated on Mondays and Fridays using A319 aircraft.

Tunisair orders an A319ER
Tunisair has placed an order for one A319ER (Extended range) from manufacturer Airbus. Additionally, the airline has indicated intentions to modify its existing A319s to -ERs.
Tunisair to start services to Oran
Tunisair will start services between Tunis and Oran, Algeria effective the end of March. Flights will be operated on Tuesdays and Fridays with a mix of B735s and A319s.

Increase in frequencies at Tunisair
Tunisair is set to increase frequencies on routes from Tunis to Nouakchott, Dakar, Marseille, Tripoli and Geneva with its upcoming summer schedule. While flights to Dakar, Nouakchott and Geneva will be increased from 3x to 4x per week, Marseille will see an increase to 9x per week, up from the current daily, and Tripoli will see an increase to 6x per week up from the current five. The new flights to Dakar, Nouakchott, Tripoli and Geneva will be served with the A320, while Marseille will see the B735. The Tripoli service will maintain the existing Wednesdays schedule.

Additionally, Tunisair will increase frequency between Monastir and Amsterdam to 2x per week with the introduction of a nonstop flight on Saturdays using a B736. Monastir to Nice will also see an increase from a single weekly flight to 3x per week.

EgyptAir and Tunis Air to launch Arabesk
EgyptAir and Tunis Air are said to have reached an agreement with the Arab Air Carriers Organisation to launch a new airline alliance dubbed Arabesk, which will initially be composed of eight arab airlines from Africa and the Middle East. The alliance is set to be launched in mid-December.
