TAAG inaugurates service to Dubai
TAAG, Angola’s flag carrier, inaugurated service to Dubai this week with two weekly flights. Flights operate on Mondays and Fridays using B772s.

Angola’s TAAG to serve Beijing
TAAG, Angola’s flag carrier, will begin services to Beijing, China on November 23. Flights will be operated on Wednesdays and Fridays using B772 aircraft.

Angola’s TAAG to serve Addis Ababa
TAAG, Angola’s flag carrier, will begin services from Luanda to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia beginning the end of October. Flights will be operated nonstop using B73Gs on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

TAAG banned from EU airspace, Angola retaliates
TAAG Angola Airlines, Angola’s flag carrier, was added to EU’s list of banned airlines last week and was set to operate its last flight out of Lisbon today. Reportedly, the government of Angola has in turn banned British Airways from operating into Luanda - TAAG was set to start services to London Gatwick this summer. Reuters also reports that other European airlines may also be banned from serving Angola.

- Aviation authorities in Angola have lifted a ban on British Airways
TAAG to serve London Gatwick
According to posted schedules, TAAG, Angola’s national airline, will start nonstop services between Luanda, Angola and London Gatwick begining the end of April. Flights will be operated on Fridays using B772s.

TAAG to serve Lisbon via Sao Tome
Angola’s national airline, TAAG, will start services between Luanda and Lisbon via São Tome . Flights will operate on Mondays and Fridays using newly delivered B73W aircraft, complementing the airline’s nonstop service to Lisbon.
TAAG receives 5 aircraft
TAAG, Angola’s flag carrier, has taken delivery of 5 aircraft from Boeing in one day. These comprise of 3 B73Gs and 2 B772ERs, with another two aircraft, one from each model, are due for delivery next year.
TAAG suspends all domestic, regional flights
TAAG, Angola’s flag carrier, has reportedly suspended all domestic and regional flights following a directive from the National Civil Aviation Institute of Angola citing aircraft maintenance issues. The airline intends to resume service in two to three weeks time with leased aircraft.
TAAG to serve Berlin, Germany
TAAG’s press officer has announced that the airline would soon serve Berlin, the capital of Germany. Schedule and start up dates have not been announced.
TAAG returns to Uige
TAAG Angolan Airlines reinstated service to Uige in the country’s northernmost province following an eight year absence due to the airport’s runway conditions. Flights will be operated from Luanda to Uige twice per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
TAAG 747 impounded at Lisbon
A TAAG B742 has been seized in Lisbon, Portugal on Wednesday over a debt claimed by a local fruit firm. The airline made alternate arrangements and chartered aircraft to accomodate passengers scheduled to travel to Luanda.
Update: the aircraft has reportedly been released following ruling that the seizure was not legally grounded.
TAAG Angolan Airlines to Houston, Dubai and Beijing
It has been reported that TAAG, upon the arrival of its third B772 which it orderered earlier this year, will open up new routes to Houston in the United States as well as Dubai in the United Arab Emirates in the second quarter of 2006. Beijing, China will follow soon thereafter. All routes will originate in Luanda, the capital of Angola.
TAAG adds flights to Johannesburg
In order to meet the demand for flights between Luanda, Angola and Johannesburg, South Africa during the South African Airways strike, TAAG has added three additionala flights per week for a total of 6. All flights are operated with a B74D, and replace those flights operated by SAA.
TAAG to increase services to Rio for the summer season
TAAG, Angola’s flag carrier, is to increase services from Luanda to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from a weekly to 2x per week for the summer. The second flight will be operated on Thursdays between July 28 and October 27, with a 743-Combi.

TAAG goes with Boeing, and restarts services
TAAG has reportedly placed an order for a mix of Boeing B737s and B777s for delivery starting next year. The airline currently operates two B743-combis and five B732s.
The airline also resumed service to Lusaka on May 20. Flights will be operated once per week with a B732.
Edit: The order for new aircraft was announced today as being 2 772ERs and 2 73GQCs, with the latter being quick-change from pax to cargo configuration. Delivery will begin in July 2006, with all aircraft delivered by the end of that year.
