Precision Air has reportedly signed a lease for an ATR42 set for delivery next month. The airline plans to introduce new routes including Mwanza-Nairobi and Dar es Salaam-Nachingwea as new aircraft is acquired.

Precision Air is reportedly looking for larger aircraft that would be deployed on distant routes from Dar Es Salaam to cities in South Africa and the Middle East.
Precision Air signs agreement for more ATRs
Precision Air signed on Monday a $97-million accord with European aircraft manufacturer ATR for the purchase of six ATR aircraft. The order, which is composed of three -72-500s and three -42-500s, will bring the airline’s fleet size to twelve.
Precision Air stretches network, adds Pemba and Entebbe
Precision Air is adding Pemba, Mozambique and Entebbe, Uganda to its growing network. Flights to Pemba, which will start on July 15, will operate from Dar Es Salaam on Tuesdays and Fridays (via Mtwara) while flights to Entebbe, which start on July 15, will operate from Kilimanjaro on Mondays and Saturdays. Part owner Kenya Airways will place its code on flights to Pemba.

Precision Air to add an ATR-72, indicates service to Entebbe
Tanzania-based Precision Air will add a ATR-72 with 66-seats to its fleet next week, bringing its fleet total to 9. The airline, which operates domestic and regional routes out of Dar Es Salaam, also indicated intentions to start services to Entebbe in Uganda effective July. No schedules have been announced.
Kenya Airways interested in Air Tanzania
Kenya Airways is reportedly interested in acquiring a stake in Air Tanzania through its partner Precision Air, which is the second largest airline in Tanzania operating domestic and international flights. Precison Air has reportedly written to the Tanzanian government proposing a merger with TC, which is currently ending a 4-year partnership with South African Airways.
Precision Air to add services to Lindi and Mtwara
Precision Air is expanding its domestic routes within Tanzania with the introduction of services to Lindi and Mtwara, cities located in the southermost part of the country. The airline will operate Dar es Salaam-Lindi-Mtwara-Dar es Salaam on Wednesdays and Sundays, and a Mtwara-only service from Dar on Fridays. Flights will be operated using an ATR-42 effective the first week of February.

Precision Air is to add an additional frequency on its Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania to Dubai route, bringing the total to 3 per week as of the last week of February. The new flight will be operated on Tuesdays with a B737.

Precision Air, Tanzania’s only privately held airline, received a fourth ATR-42 last month, bringing the airline’s fleet to a total of eight, including one ATR-72, two LET-410s and one Cessna Caravan.
