Dubai-based Emirates is reportedly to add Durban, South Africa as its 16th African destination. Flights will operate daily effective December 1 using A332 aircraft.

SAA to codeshare with Emirates ex-Cape Town

As of March 30, South African Airways will place its code on daily service operated by Emirates between Cape Town and Dubai.

Emirates will introduce new service to Cape Town, South Africa from Dubai effective March 30. Flights will be operated daily using A332 aircraft.

Emirates to add three weekly flights to Nairobi

The Standard reports Emirates has notified Kenyan aviation authorities of its intentions to increase frequency to Nairobi from the current double daily to 17x per week. No schedule details for the flights that would originate in Dubai have been announced.

Emirates to add service to Johannesburg

Emirates Airlines will add frequency on its existing 2x daily service to Johannesburg, with the introduction of four weekly flights effective June. Flights will be operated on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays using B77W aircraft.

Emirates to serve Tunis

Emirates’ latest destination in Africa is Tunis, Tunisia, which will be served effective October 29. Flights will be operated daily except Fridays and Saturdays using A332 aircraft on a triangle routing that includes Tripoli, Libya.

Emirates to increase Abidjan service

Emirates will increase its frequency to Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire from the current 4x per week to 5x per week effective the begining of June. Flights will be operated on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Emirates to go daily to Khartoum

Emirates will increase its current frequency between Dubai, UAE and Khartoum, Sudan from the current 6x per week to daily effective October 1. The new flight, which will operate on Sundays, will follow the existing schedule.

Emirates Skycargo to Lilongwe

Emirates Skycargo will introduce a weekly freighter service between Dubai, UAE and Lilongwe, Malawi effective January 13. Flights will be operated on Fridays using the airline’s A310F.

Emirates to increase frequency to Seychelles

Emirates is to increase services from Dubai to the Indian Ocean island of Seychelles from the current 4x per week to 7x per week effective the week of March 20. Flights will be operated with A332s.

Emirates to increase frequency to Dar Es Salaam

Emirates is set to increase its frequency to Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania from Dubai by 4 weekly flights, bringing the total number of weekly flights to 11. The new flight will be opreated nonstop on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays using A332s, and will take effect the last week of March 2006.

Emirates to reroute some Entebbe flights, reduce Nairobi frequency

Emirates is to route three out of its existing daily flights from Dubai to Entebbe, Uganda, thus dropping Nairobi, Kenya as a stop over. Flight #723 will be routed via Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, effectively reducing frequency to Nairobi from the current 14x per week to 11x per week.

Emirates to serve Addis Ababa

According to posted schedules, Emirates is to start serving Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from its hub in Dubai. Flights will be operated 3x per week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays using A332s as of the week of March 20, 2006.

Emirates to start services to Abidjan

Emirates Airlines is to start 4x per week flights to Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire from Dubai effective February 1. Flights will be operated with an A332 via Accra on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Emirates increases services to Tripoli

Emirates is to increase services to Tripoli, Libya from the current 3x per week to 5x. All flights will operate nonstop, a change from the current one-stop service via Malta. Flights will be operated with a mix of A332s and B772s.

Emirates to go nonstop to Accra

Emirates is increasing capacity to both Accra, Ghana and Lagos, Nigeria as of December by dedicating a flight to Accra. Currently, the airline serves Accra from Dubai with a stop in Lagos. Schedules to both cities, each served with A332s, is as follows:
