bmi has added its code on flights operated by Virgin Atlantic between London Heathrow and Nairobi, Kenya.

bmi will reduce frequency between London Heathrow and Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in April to 3x per week from the current five. All flights will be routed via Amman, Jordan. bmi will continue to code share on Ethiopian’s flights between the two cities.

Ethiopian Airlines and bmi will place each other’s code on services between Addis Ababa and London effective January 19. Ethiopian operates 6 flights per week, while bmi operates 5.

bmi will suspend services to Dakar, Sénégal on May 1 citing commercial reasons. British Airways, which placed its code on bmi’s route, is also affected by the suspension.

bmi announced today that it will cooperate with EgyptAir on its service between London Heathrow and Cairo.

“It is also extremely pleasing that our service to Cairo will be operated in cooperation with EgyptAir. This will enable each of us to benefit from our strengths in our respective home markets to promote and sell seats on each others’ services.”

The airline also announced that it will cease operations to Alexandria, Egypt at the commencement of its Winter schedule in favour of a codeshare services with EgyptAir via Cairo.

According to posted schedules, bmi will serve Cairo, Egypt from London Heathrow begining Sunday October 28. Flights will be operated daily using A320 aircraft.
