Arik Air signed a letter of intent with Boeing for three B748s and seven 737s.

Arik Air reportedly took delivery of two new B73Gs from Boeing today.

Arik Air inaugurated twice daily service to Accra on January 18. Flights are operated using B73G aircraft.

Arik Air signed an agreement with Bombardier today for the order of four Dash 8-Q400s. The airline already operates Bombardier four CRJ900s, three CRJ200s and three Q300s.

Arik Air took delivery last weekend of two brand new B73Gs, joining the airline’s two Boeing 733s and CRJ200s.

Nigeria’s Arik Air announced today the order of two B772LRs and three B787-9s from Boeing, marking the first time in over 25 years for a Nigerian airline to purchase a new commercial jet. The airline also took delivery of two new B73Gs that will be operated out of its base in Lagos.

Arik Air placed an order for a fourth CRJ-900 from bombardier last week. The airline’s -900s feature a two-class interior with 10 business class seats and 65 economy seats.

The Nigeria-based Guardian Newspaper reports that the government of Nigeria is designating two airlines to fly to the United States. Bellview Airlines is designated as one to fly to Newark, New Jersey, while Arik Air, a new startup, is designated to fly to Atlanta, Georgia, in addition to serving London in the United Kingdom. Currently, only North American Airlines flies between the United States and Nigeria, while Delta and Continental are expected to follow suit.
