Following a bid opened to select a strategic partner for Air Botswana as part of a privatisation plan, Botswana’s government has selected South African Airlink as its preferred bidder.

The government of Botswana, having recently announced its intention to privatize the national airline, has announced the shortlisted bidders, among whom are two Africa-based airlines , Comair of South Africa and Ethiopian Airlines. Neither the size of the stake for sale nor other details are public.
Air Botswana leases a BAe146

Air Botswana has leased a BAe146-100 from BAE Systems Regional Aircraft. The airline plans to replace its entire fleet during the 2008/09 financial year.
