Afriqiyah Airways will begin 3x per week service between Tripoli, Libya and Dusseldorf, Germany on October 29 using A320 aircraft. Flights will be operated on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Afriqiyah is reportedly interested in serving Kenya from its base in Tripoli, Libya within the next year, subject to the delivery of new aircraft.

Libya-based Afriqiyah Airways placed a firm order for five A320s and signed a memorandum of understanding for five A350XWBs. The airline placed an order in 2006 for six A320s, three A319s and three A330-200s

Libya-based Afriqiyah Airways today signed a memorandum of understanding with Airbus for the purchase of 6x A320s, 3x A319s and 3x A332s. The agreement also calls for 5x options on the A320/319 and 3x on the A332s.

Afriqiyah Airways will start services to Benghazi, Libya, effective April. Flights will be operated 3x per week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays using A320s.

Afriqiyah Airways is to start serving Cairo, Egypt from Tripoli, Libya effective mid-June 2006 with 2 flights per week using its A320. Flights will be operated on Mondays and Saturdsays. Afriqiyah becomes the third airline to serve this route, joining EgyptAir and Libyan Arab Airlines.
